LOOKING BACK

I was looking over the pictures that were posted this past year and decided to pick one from each month.  Some months were easy...and some were difficult.

Before you tell me that there are only twelve months in a year and not thirteen, one month I choose Jack and Ben.  As I looked at the pictures, they looked the same yesterday.

My choices were from first impressions and not from any analytical gyrations.  There were others that could have made the cut easily, but ...

Week 52

Week 52...  What happened to this year?

I was walking on the Big Creek Greenway, which is far from green this time of year, and spotted this tree.  Ironically, I did not have my camera, so I went back yesterday to take a picture, with a Photoshop project in mind.

This tree is about 20" in diameter.  I took a close-up picture.

I also took a picture of myself, not your typical 'selfie,' and a picture of the walkway, resulting in the following:

Merry Christmas! and a Happy New Year.

Week 51

Getting down toward the end of this year.  It has been difficult to take pictures with all the activities of the Christmas season and the landscapes are, for the most part, blah.

This month's photo club challenge has been great in the latter regard.  We are to take 'Monochrome' pictures and using software to make adjustments is not allowed.

Fortunately, camera settings are available for use, which I did in the first two pictures.  The third picture was posted previously and the sky is what one can consider 'monochrome.'  The black silhouette of the the tree line is a given.

Week 50

This picture is from the archives.  The truck is no longer setting along the roadside between Dillard, GA and Highlands, NC.

After seeing it the first time, I would say, "If your Ford give out, use it as a planter."

This photo is a HDR (High Definition Range) rendition, done on a separate software.  I classify photos that have been manipulated more than the normal adjustments, such as, highlights, contrasts, the removal of unwanted items from a background and etc., as PhotoArt.

The second photo is one of the pictures that I used for the HDR process.

WEEK 49 a

Photo art... A little longer shutter speed, a little wiggling of the camera, and Christmas lights.  What more does one need?  One more thing.  The picture was horizontal and I rotated it 90 degrees.  I thought that the lines looked better vertically than horizontally.

Tip you head to the right to see if you agree.

WeeK 49

This scene was taken on the way to work on Majors Road in Cumming.  In deference to my wife, I did not touch the photo at all, except from cropping it to fit a photo ratio (14 x 11).  What you see is what I saw without a camera.

I did crop the second photo to give two dramatic contrasts in composition.
