Daffodils, now the Cherry Tree and soon other signs of Spring will be appearing. It is a great time. The Redbud will blossom for 3-4 weeks and then turn green.

Week 8a
In New Hampshire, the "Red,red Robin, comes Bob-bob-bobin along, was considered on of the first rites of Spring. Here is Georgia, it is the Daffodil blossoming. Yesterday, on the way to church, I saw the first daffodils of this year; February 23.

Week 8
I have taken similar photos from this spot quote some time ago, but I had to go the Buckhead this morning (7:00 am) and has a couple of hours before work.
In both these photos, I had the camera shutter speed at 5 seconds and I had to adjust the aperture to get the the look that I wanted.
I used a tripod for the first picture of the tail lights of the automobile traveling down Piedmont Road. The second picture is of the sign on the Red Pepper Restaurant. I hand held the camera, focused the camera on the sign, and then moved the camera around for the 5 seconds that the camera was taking the picture.
If you follow the lines, you can see that I moved the camera down slightly, then to the left, up and to the right, then down, back to the left, up and to the right.

Week 7a
Yesterday, the fog was very thick and the sun was appearing at the same time. This picture was taken about a mile from home on the way to work. Definately a different kind of sunrise.
Another reminder that you can click on any picture to enlarge it.

Week 7
We went to Helen after church, by a back road, and came across this mill out in nowhere... I think that the lack of green foliage lends itseft to the setting, although, I will probably return later this Spring. I have included two perspectives.
After walking around Helen, which I was surprised with the amount of people that where there, we went to Sautee. I took pictures of the Indian Mound that is on the way and of a Covered Bridge, which is a bout 3 miles on the other side of Sautee.
This picture is of the Sautee Store, which seems to be left in the condition of yesteryear as you enter. There is a gift store in the rear of the store. We did not go into the other 'tourist traps' that are there.

Week 6c
Perspective, in photography, is seeing a subject from a different angle, for example, taking a picture straight on versus laying on your back on taking the picture of the tree with the sky as the background. The perspective in these pictures is a done differently.
The first picture is of a frozen droplet of water on a tree in our front yard. It is an ice drop and the fissures give it character.
In the next picture, I changed the perspective by rotating the picture 180 degrees. Everything else is the same.
Do you sense a difference? Doe the droplet in the bottom picture seem closer and a little larger than the top picture? Which has more eye appeal? There are no right or wrong answers?

Week 6b
The first picture has the bird on the left looking at something below and I had the same bird in another shot looking in the same direction as the other bird. So, I decided to Photoshop the two pictures and the second picture is what I wanted.
When I show this to Linda, she just said, "I can't believe any picture that I see." This is particularly true of the starlets on magazine covers. I believe that most photos have had some adjustments to correct 'operator errors' when taking the picture.

Week 6a
We had some visitors in our back yard today. Besides these, there were doves and a male and a female cardinal. The finches were the most active.
I am not sure what the first bird is. I think that it is the female cardinal, but not positive. It would make a great caption picture. One that comes to mind is, "How many times do I have to tell you ..."
This was the first time to see the next bird. It is an Eastern Bluebird.
The last bird is a Purple finch or a House Finch. I noticed that both names were used to identify it.
Remember about clicking on a picture to enlarge it.

Week 6
Turtledoves are appropriate for Valentine's Day. How about turtles? These two seem to be enjoying each others company. At least, that what Linda thought.
The actual size of these is about 10 -12" in diameter. They were basking on a log near the Big Creek Walkway off Majors Road in Cumming, GA.
I will be posting something later this week. Remember to click on any of the pictures to get a larger version.
