It amazes me how often there is a good opportunity to take a picture from our front yard. This picture caught my eye as I was leaving the house a 7:15 am and it created two thoughts in my mind. First, was that I was looking down at a valley the was covered with fog. Secondly, at a quick glance, it looked as though there was a tidal wave coming over the tree. Where is Noah when you need him???

The next picture is of the same cloud bank about 5 miles from the house. The sun started to 'back-light' the top of the clouds. The silhouette of the barn, the grove of trees, and the tall, lone tree add much to the composition.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Week 47
Here is a sampling from a day trip to Madison, GA this past Saturday.
On the way there, a stop at a monastery in Conyers, GA. They had a Bookstore/Gift Shop that has great Biscotti.
On to Madison and this is our table at the Madison Tea Room. This, along with the Potted Geranium in Greensboro, GA are the BEST! They are closing this location in December and are building a new tea Room, which will open in the Summer of 2015.
Left the tea room to look at one of the homes, at the invitation of the owner, that will be featured int the 'Christmas Walk' early in December and past this store, which is off the square. 'A blast from the past!'
The next picture is the front door and the following picture is the read of the home... We were able to peek in the windows and the interior is amazing.
This tree was on the walk back to the center of town. Just spectacular!

Week 46
It has been a slow week for taking pictures. Some weeks, one has to work hard to get some pictures, while other weeks, it comes easily.
The two pictures for this week were taken in our front yard. Our subdivision decorated all the mailboxes for the veterans. They this each Veteran's Day and it is very nice of them.
The picture of the tree is a reminder, as the leaves have been falling off the tree that Winter is upon us. Fortunately, the winters in Georgia are not a burden that they can be elsewhere. This tree and a few others nearby are the last ones to still have leaves on them.

Week 45
The project this month is 'weather.' Unfortunately, inclement weather... not the beautiful, sunny weather that we have in Georgia so often.
Here are two photos that I probably will be submitting. One of these may not reach the final submittal, but what I enjoy the most about these projects is having a goal to shoot something specific, looking for the right opportunity, and capturing the picture.
First, this was taken just north of Canaan Mountain in New Hampshire and it was dank, dismal, and foggy. Great for the project!

The next picture was taken in Alpharetta, Georgia on McFarland Parkway. Ironically, this is the view from my desk at work. The storm clouds were moving in and, as you an see in the foreground, the morning light was reflecting off the tree, creating a nice contrast.
